The Great Sandhills Museum
is located in the village of Sceptre, Saskatchewan, Canada on
Highway 32. The population of Sceptre is under 200 residents
but that hasn't stopped Sceptre from becoming a tourist mecca!
The Great Sandhills Museum opened in 1988.
Take a walk through the pages of time down the wooden
boardwalks of the museum. You will experience visits to a
boarding house, hospital, livery stable, school, church,
interpretive centre, dentist office and many more interesting
rooms.
You can also visit in a church and barn
adjacent to the museum and take a stroll through vintage
machinery on display.
A trip around our village will provide much
viewing pleasure as you note the cartoon fire hydrants, the
world's tallest metal wheat sculpture and the many murals which
have been painted by local and provincial artists.
Then off to the Great Sand Dunes just south
of Sceptre - huge dunes of pure sand peaking high into the
horizon.
